Our Manicure Service FAQs
What is a full manicure?
A full manicure (or a “full set” manicure) is the process of having a nail technician apply gel or acrylic nails to all of your nails. The process enhances the natural beauty of your hands by extending the length of your natural nails. To give you a full set manicure, a nail technician will either overlay or sculpt your natural nails with gel or acrylics; this fortifies them with extra strength and enhances their aesthetics. A full set manicure is also known as an infill or a refill when the nail technician layers gel or acrylic product on top of a previously finished manicure.
Generally, during a full manicure, the nail technician will remove any nail polish you have on your nails, clean and moisturize your cuticles, moisturize your hands, and file your natural nails short before they proceed to give you a new set of nails.
What type of manicure is best for your nails?
A standard manicure involves nail treatment, shaping, filing, buffing, cuticle cleaning, and oftentimes, a hand massage; this alone is a strengthening and therapeutic exercise that your nails are sure going to be grateful for.
Clients wishing to take nail protection a step further usually opt for a gel Shellac manicure, as these are easy to take out and leave no damage to the state of the natural nails.
What do you soak your hands in for a manicure?
During your visits to the nail salon, you may have observed that the nail technician will often ask you to immerse your fingers in liquid for about ten minutes before the manicure. This can be for several reasons (such as moisturizing and nail polish removal), and depending on the purpose, the liquid can be anything from acetone to essential oils.
To soften your nails and provide your cuticles with the nourishment they need, your nail technician may ask you to soak your hand in a solution consisting of ingredients such as essential oils, moisturizing lotions, soap, lemon, milk and honey, white vinegar, or egg yolks.
To take off your full set manicure, the technician will ask you to soak your fingers in an acetone solution to dissolve the acrylic.
